Jun 01, 2026 12:00PM ● By Catherine Atienza
The 14th annual Richmond Boxer Brief 5K Run/Walk will take place at City Stadium beginning at 8:15 a.m. on June 6, with the theme “You are a KEY to defeating colorectal cancer,” bringing together colorectal cancer survivors, patients, family, friends, neighbors and colleagues to energize efforts to prevent and defeat the country’s second-deadliest cancer killer in men and women and number cancer killer in men under 50.

There will be music, awards, prizes and kids’ activities to create an enthusiastic atmosphere of support and hope to defeat colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable. The proceeds support the work of Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) to continue their screening and educational services.

Other events include the Toddler Trot, the Diaper Dash and the Caped Colon Crusader Fun Run for all the little ones. Those living outside of Richmond can join the HCB2 GLOBAL Virtual Challenge and accumulate miles in various activities. They can post photos tagged @hittingcancerbelowthebelt with the #BoxerBrief5K #HCB2 or upload them on the registration website.

Location: 3201 Maplewood Ave., Richmond. Register (required) at RunSignup.com/Race/VA/Richmond/BoxerBrief5K.
