Sneed’s Discontinues Selling Invasive Species
Sneed’s Nursery & Garden Center is your local source for everything under the sun and in the shade since 1976. Their unique plant materials, knowledgeable sales staff and eclectic garden baubles inspire interest in the art of gardening and all things growing.
As advocates for the environment, Sneed’s promotes native plants for wildlife and pollinator habitat and food and offers a wide selection of native plants for home gardens. To further support the local environment, they recently decided to discontinue the sale of plants considered invasive. As of January, Sneed’s no longer carries English ivy, vinca, nandina, akebia and other plants deemed invasive by the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation and the State Arboretum at Blandy Experimental Farm. The list of plants is available in their office and the staff is available to help homeowners choose alternatives.
At Sneed’s, the goal is to educate customers on the importance of responsible gardening practices and organic product choices. They offer organic foods and solutions that work with nature to grow healthy and beautiful gardens, preserve our natural resources and make Richmond healthy for present and future generations.
