Scherm Family Chiropractic opened in Mechanicsville in January, providing chiropractic care and massage therapy to help patients achieve their wellness goals. Now, massage therapist Debbie Luther joins the team offering prenatal massage therapy. Owner Dr. Janine Scherm says, “If you are pregnant and either need to relax before the baby gets here, or have lower back, mid-back or neck pain, massage is a great fit for you. For those that are over 36 weeks pregnant, we also have some trigger point skills that may help get your body starting the delivery process.”

Dr. Scherm and the staff at Scherm Family Chiropractic also have training in postpartum care. Post-pregnancy, a mom can experience lower back pain from delivery, mid-back pain from holding her baby, breastfeeding issues such as latching or pain, incontinence, pelvic floor instability or prolapse. Scherm Family Chiropractic also provides pediatric care to help with issues such as babies that cry excessively, have frequent ear infections or have tongue or lip ties.
