Natural Awakenings Richmond

Resetting Touch Provides Mobile Services

Jul 11, 2024 06:45AM ● By Catherine Atienza

James Head, the owner and founder of Resetting Touch, says, “Relaxation is the base nature of my business; therapeutic work is my goal for each client I work with.” His business is mobile and comes directly to them with six-and-a-half years of combined knowledge in massage therapy, physiology, kinesiology and anatomy.

He explains, “The business was founded officially in 2022 in Richmond. I’m coming from Northern Virginia to Richmond and saw there weren’t many options for mobile massage therapy in Richmond at affordable prices, so I followed the American dream and capitalized.”

Head provides 60-, 75-, 90- and 120-minute massage services with varying options, such as Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, sports and MMA (mixed massage arts—his own twist on the combination of everything within his skill set, using his own table, warmer and hypoallergenic gel.

The difference between his business and others is that he brings what people would normally experience in a spa to their home, such as aromatherapy, cupping, cannabidiol (CBD) and guided stretches. Depending on the distance, there usually is no travel fee, unlike other therapists, just the base service fee and gratuity.

“The most popular service I get requested for is my MMA service, where the client can receive the therapeutic care they want or need, along with some relaxation mixed in to complete the feeling of the whole service,” says the former U.S. Marine who has been a practicing therapist since 2018. “One of my biggest accomplishments is that I’ve been blessed to have partnered with a gym in Henrico, RAW Affects, and a mobile massage company for Fortune 500 companies, Shortcut. Both request me on an as-needed basis per their clients.”
