Project Yoga Richmond Offers New Options for Kids and Teens
Wellness nonprofit Project Yoga Richmond (PYR) operates through a pay-what-you-can model and now offers more opportunities for children and their families to relax, restore, share, heal and support one another through yoga and meditation.
Yoga for Kids is an online class offered from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Kids get to stretch and move their bodies while learning about some basic yoga elements. An online Energetic Interval Yoga class for middle and high school students is taught from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. every Monday. The class incorporates alternating repetitive movements like lunges and planks with calming breathing techniques and traditional yoga postures.
Project Yoga Richmond
remains dedicated to bringing the benefits of yoga to everyone regardless of
their ability to pay, even while many Richmond families must homeschool during
this challenging time. Community donations support PYR’s classes for youth as
well as online yoga outreach programs for Richmond Public School students.
